  • How do I know "what's going on" at St. Catherine of Siena School?
Every Thursday, the principal will send out an electronic newsletter (the Siena Scribe), which will include a calendar of events and other news at the school. In our efforts to be "green," these are sent via email. However, if you would prefer a hard copy, simply write a note into the office.
  • Do I need to provide anything to the school nurse before the school year?
Yes, every child must get a physical and a doctor to say they are in good health. The Archdiocese Student Health Form 5320 (click here to obtain the form) needs to be filled out and signed by a doctor. This form is required prior to the first day of school. You will also need to have your child’s Immunization Record and Hearing, Vision, Dental, and Nutritional Record turned into the school as well. These are forms 3231 and 3300, which you can get from your child’s pediatrician.
  • Can I have lunch with my child?
Due to limited space in the cafeteria, we are not able to invite parents or guests to join our students for lunch.
  • Is there a hot lunch that the kids can buy? Do they have to buy?
Yes, we have a Fun Lunch Program five days a week. Parents can order Fun Lunches via the family FACTS account from the various vendors, including Chick-Fil-A, Culvers, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, and Zaxby's. It is important to note that fun lunches are ordered approximately 6 weeks in advance. An email will go out each time the fun lunch orders are open for ordering. Students are welcome to pack lunches daily as well.
  • If my child forgets his/her homework, lunch, or P.E. uniform, can I drop it off?
You can drop off the lunch and coat, and these will be delivered to your child. As an effort to teach personal responsibility, homework or P.E. uniforms cannot be dropped off for students in 2nd Grade and up.
  • How do I find out about clubs/sports for my child?
As different seasons approach, the principal will send out information in the Siena Scribe for different activities in which your child can participate.
  • How can I find out my child's academic schedule (tests, projects, etc.) and what my child is studying each week?
SCS uses FACTS to assist parents in monitoring their child's studies, schedule, and in some cases, even grades. Your child will have a personal page where you can view available information. You will be given a login and password information to access it at the beginning of the year. Some teachers will also send home a weekly packet with graded assignments and tests for parents to review.
